Smile. You’ve just been tagged! Check out KindSpring!
In the quiet of my home this morning, my heart was smiling as I thought about the fun and loving moments with my family and friends. I was overflowing with gratitude. I brewed a lovely cup of tea and logged onto Facebook to check out any new pictures posted and inspiration shared. It didn’t take long to find a video that Terah Kathryn Collins of the Western School of Feng Shui had shared with the caption, “Feel this!” I knew I could count on Terah sharing a treat!
The video: GRATEFUL: A Love Song to the World did not disappoint!
After viewing the video, I decided to check out the website for KindSpring and found a delightful site chockful of ideas for gratitude and kindness. My kind of place! It also reminded me of a conversation a few of my friends have been having about paying it forward.
While looking through KindSpring’s website, I remembered a project I created for myself a few years ago. I cut out multicolored stars and every day I wrote something I was grateful for and taped the star to my bathroom mirror. At the end of a month, I had a beautiful constellation of gratitude flowing across my mirror and evidence of a multitude of blessings in my life. I am going to give this project another try only this time I think I am going to use hearts!
Kindness comes in all sizes and shapes. On KindSpring’s website you can download or order cards to play the pay it forward game and read inspiring stories of kindness – many of which are expressions of gratitude.
“Nothing can make our lives, or the lives of other people, more beautiful than perpetual kindness.” – Tolstoy
KindSpring is a project of ServiceSpace: “ServiceSpace is an all volunteer-run organization that leverages technology to inspire greater volunteerism. It’s a space to explore our own relationship with service and our interconnection with the rest of the world. ServiceSpace allows our inherent generosity to blossom out into small acts of service for the community around us. It’s a space to learn how outer change is closely tied to our own inner transformation. It’s about changing ourselves, to change the world.”
I love – “It’s about changing ourselves, to change the world.” Kindness and gratitude is an easy place to start no matter where you are standing in life. As this year draws to a close and the beginning of a brand new year beckons, what is your heart pulling you toward? Is kindness and gratitude a part of your process?
All the best to you as you wrap up the final week of 2013 and look toward 2014. Holly and I are grateful to each of you for your support of our service in the world and we are here to help guide you in fulfilling your goals and dreams in the new year!
